The Hallux Valgus deformity of the big toe is treated using a bunion splint. The toe is stretched in an overcorrected posture while worn, resulting in elongation of soft tissues around the big toe, which is corrected over time. The device can also be used as a post-operative assistance to help stabilize the restored alignment after bunion surgery. Because of the dynamic hinge movement, the foot remains flexible and can be worn while walking. It works well as a day and night splint.
